Bellevue summer electrofishing

The Watershed Company conducted fish capture and identification during the summers of 2018 and 2019 as part of the City of Bellevue’s on-going capital improvement project program.  Electrofishing sites included Kelsey Creek, Newport Creek, Coal Creek, Yarrow Creek, Lewis Creek, and West Tributary.  The purpose of the sampling was to monitor stream status and trends of salmonids, specifically for juvenile coho salmon and cutthroat trout.  The Watershed Company conducted the electrofishing sampling with help from City of Bellevue representatives and volunteers.  Final summary reports were written describing the methods and results and compared the information to that collected from past years.  Efforts in this project will help determine the effectiveness of existing and future capital projects for improving fish habitat and the success of salmonid supplementation
efforts.
