The expansion of the existing commercial facility required rethinking outdoor amenities for both employees and customers while accommodating an existing, site-restricting stream with a degraded buffer. The Watershed, Company teamed with the project architect, envisioned the on-site stream as an amenity, as opposed to an encumbrance. The riparian system was enhanced through an overall reduction of existing impervious surfaces, while a new tumbled granite surface courtyard allows guests and employees to enjoy the urban stream-side space. Thoughtful landscaping, with predominantly native plants, ties the human and natural site elements together.
