Description

In cooperation with Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust proposed a 1-mile section of trail in Squak Mountain State Park, a 1,545-acre facility in unincorporated King County, Washington. The project included decommissioning a portion of an existing equestrian trail and planning a new trail segment that included a footbridge crossing.

A Critical Areas study and concurrent Wildlife Habitat Assessment were performed. Ecologists delineated streams and wetlands in the project area. The wildlife habitat assessment included potential occurrence of species of local importance, habitat networks, and habitat conservation areas. A floodplain assessment to aid in bridge design and placement was also completed.

Preparation of a SEPA checklist, attending a pre-application meeting and other permit support activities were included.
