Description

The Watershed Company provided Federal, State and local permit support, wetland mitigation design, construction oversight and monitoring for a transmission line replacement project in the Novelty Hill area of King County. Nine miles of new transmission lines were constructed in summer 2006, with associated impacts in three river basins. The Watershed Company assisted with regulatory processes, including King County Public Agency Utility Exception, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Washington Department of Ecology permits. Construction oversight included monitoring of clearing around wetlands, riparian areas and their buffers to ensure that mitigation met regulatory requirements. Post construction monitoring is under way.
