Description

Biologists from The Watershed Company are assessing salmonid habitat on the lower 4.25 miles of the Tahuya River in Mason County. The purpose of the assessment is to identify and prioritize areas in need of large woody debris placement for enhancing salmon habitat. Work includes GPS documentation of active channel migration and flooding zone, inventory of LWD size, distribution and condition, and the development of guidelines to create stable structures within the assessment reach. The project is financed by a Salmon Recovery Funding Board grant.
