The Watershed Company integrates each home's unique features into green shoreline designs that improve water access, invigorate landscapes, enhance views, and add wildlife habitat. Many projects involve renovating deteriorating docks and replacing bulkheads, focusing on improving use and stability while also reducing impacts on fish.
Our experienced landscape architects forge your shoreline goals and wishes into detailed plans and create a new shoreline design suited to your lifestyle. Our permitting staff, familiar with local regulations and respected by regulators, will work to get your project approved quickly.
Our Shoreline Design Work
How Shoreline Upgrades Work
Step One: Site Visit
We start by visiting your yard and determining your shoreline needs. You may be restoring the shoreline as mitigation for building a new house or dock, might have a failing bulkhead, or might just be upgrading your use of the waterfront.
Step Two: Develop a Shoreline Plan
Next, we develop a shoreline plan that provides adequate stabilization while offering improved water access and habitat benefits for fish. Styles range from a full beach to a beach cove to a bioengineered shoreline using rocks and logs for stability. The design will reflect how you like to use the water, whether launching your kayak, throwing balls for the dog, or hosting dinner outside. We then obtain permits for construction.
Step Three: Construction
We can help you select a shoreline contractor and will oversee construction to ensure the shoreline is installed well.
