Description

The Watershed Company is assisting a number of cities in the Puget Sound area, as well as several counties, in a major update of their Shoreline Master Programs (SMP) so that they are compliant with new state guidelines. We have assisted over 25 jurisdictions, including six SMP updates that have been approved by the State since the new guidelines were issued. Clients have included urban, suburban, rural and agricultural communities, as well as marine and freshwater shorelines.

These multi-phase projects include preparation of a comprehensive Shoreline Characterization and Analysis Report, combined programmatic and project-specific Restoration Plan, cumulative impacts analysis, and an updated SMP. Watershed Company staff participated in public involvement proceedings, including panel-style presentations and field trips. Our GIS team provided analysis and mapping support.
