The Watershed Company has permitted dozens of single-family shoreline and stream restoration projects on Lake Washington, Lake Sammamish, Puget Sound and various rivers/stream in the region. Shoreline projects typically involve the removal of an existing bulkhead and restoration of the shoreline using bio-engineering techniques, including the placement of gravel, boulders, large woody debris and vegetation. Restoration returns usability of the shoreline to the homeowner while improving habitat. Stream restoration projects typically involve the stabilization of damaged or eroded stream banks using large woody debris and vegetation. Stabilization helps protect adjacent structures from risk while improving in-stream fish and wildlife habitat. Each restoration project requires extensive permitting at the local, state, and federal level.
