Description

The Watershed Company is designing and permitting a comprehensive dredge/sediment management project adjacent to the Newport Yacht Club at the mouth of Coal Creek in Bellevue. Sediments deposited at the mouth of Coal Creek have begun to affect navigation at the marina. We designed a dredge plan to remove the accumulated sediments and return the marina to its pre-existing condition. Various studies of the site, including a comprehensive sediment analysis plan, have been completed. Close coordination with the Corps of Engineers’ Dredge Material Management Office has resulted in approval for open-water disposal of the sediments. Further coordination and permitting with the Corps, as well as various state agencies and the City of Bellevue continues. Dredging is anticipated to begin in 2010.
