Perched high above the Tate Creek valley near Snoqualmie, WA, a modern home is nestled into the hillside. Bordered by cliffs and forest, the bluestone and metal-clad home is surrounded by dramatically different outdoor spaces. A bluestone paved courtyard tucked off the dining room welcomes with built in stone benches set against an angled wall holding back the adjacent hillside. Another patio looks across the Tate Creek valley to the craggy peaks of the Cascades, including Mt. Si. Surrounded by native second growth forest, the plant palette uses a mix of natives and tough ornamentals suited for the colder winters.
