Description

A Seattle resident was tired of endlessly mowing nine-foot wide parking strips around his home on a corner lot. The challenge was fitting the owner’s desire for a drought tolerant, low maintenance, and colorful garden with year round interest into the narrow space. A carefully thought out planting plan complete with street trees was designed and installed. The plant palette includes only drought tolerant species that, once established, would need no irrigation - after three seasons, the irrigation is off for good. The change in scenery is dramatic and the owners love their ever-changing garden - they intend to implement a similar plan for the rest of the yard.
