Description

The Watershed Company’s conceptual restoration designs enabled the City of Issaquah to fund this 11-acre park through grants from the King Conservation District, the Salmon Recovery Funding Board, and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. The Watershed Company was recently awarded the contract to provide trail and interpretive elements; stream design, including levee breaches and floodplain restoration; and wetland and buffer restoration design for what was once an old farm with numerous orchards. Designed park elements will include Kees Grove, a grove dedicated to local environmentalist Ruth Kees; meandering trails and boardwalks, overlooks, a playground and interpretive features. Park features will highlight the site’s history and sensitive areas, including Issaquah Creek, Kees Creek, wetland features, and native vegetation.
