Description

A Mercer Island couple, whose waterfront home offers inspiring views of Mt. Rainier, wanted a landscape upgrade. An all new drought-tolerant and colorful plant palette was installed on the steep hill in front of the house. By carefully locating existing and new plant material, the updated garden will provide better year round interest and enliven existing outdoor spaces with color, fragrance and texture. The shoreline area was dramatically improved with a permeable paver courtyard surrounded by low sitting walls. A new playhouse was installed near the patio, and now the whole family can enjoy the waterfront together in the same space. The design also included a privacy trellis and fence.
