Description

Building on our recent work on other Bellevue Parks, Watershed Company’s Landscape Architecture team provided park master planning to redesign the shoreline of this highly utilized beach park on Meydenbauer Bay, Lake Washington. Currently armored with concrete bulkheads, the urbanized shoreline area will be reworked into a more natural shoreline while retaining a beach area for water access. A new fully grated pier will enclose a swimming area and replace the current boathouse and boat slips, improving fish habitat by reducing over-water cover. All new plantings will be native and drought-tolerant; greatly increasing the habitat value over what is now a vast expanse of groomed lawn. The updated Clyde Beach Park will offer a better lake experience for people as well as substantially improved habitat for fish and wildlife.
