Description

Fisheries biologists at The Watershed Company are monitoring fish use, flow and habitat at streams impacted by Sea-Tac International Airport 3rd runway expansion as part of state and federal compliance requirements. Summer season monitoring includes analysis of pool, riffle, bank, substrate and passage barriers. Photography and electrofishing is done to document fish use. Work includes invertebrate assessment and B-IBI. The Watershed Company is currently processing a request to agencies to modify the monitoring protocol to increase accuracy and efficiency.
